Odin Johannessen - The Engineer
-Get To Know The Band-
From birth to death, as simple as that.

Whilst some become doctors, some become retail sales men and women, and some
become dancers, we all meet at the same door at the end. But what we do with the time we have is the beauty and horror of life.
We are all traveling down the same path. From birth to death, as simple as that.
For me personal I have always been pulled towards the creative aspect of life and my first encounter with music at an early age.
And when it comes to music I have to say:
It´s been a hell of a ride.
If you are a musician, you probably know what I am talking about.
But for you that are not familiar with this, I´ll try my best to explain.
It all started out with a feeling, a dream you may call it, but for me it was not a dream... yet.
Hanging out with a friend, we decided to start jamming together. He played drums and I played guitar, or I had a guitar is more correct.
In the basement of his parents house we started out making noice. Just writing really bad songs. (at the time they where awesome songs, LOL) And here is where the feeling came in. Something that would impact my life in ways I could´t have imagined.
Big In Japan

Well, more Being In Japan.
After a couple of years in the trenches, we hade formed a band, we had some goals and we executed them. Play live, drink beer, and make a record.
Making the record was the main reason why me dream was born.
The recording part was fun and educational.
It gave me the interest for the engineering part and how to make a record.
So I think I evolved into a producer as well as a guitarist. It is not the same as writing music, that I can ensure you.
Fallout
The album was picked up by a manager just a couple of weeks after the release. We worked with him for a year and he gave us the opportunity to go to Japan. First tour ever, let just hit Japan, that sounds like a good idea.
We saw that this could be a major opportunity to gain vital experience, playing with well known metal acts as The Faceless, Psycroptic and Nightrage.
This tour gave me so much more than just the experience.
It also gave my dream a home. "The Road". And so It began.
Even though we didn´t get big in Japan we did get Japan under our belt.
So from that point forward, touring and making music have been my major call in life.
Starting out on the guitar pretty late, at the age of 25 was not an obstacle, it was a challange.

Rock Bottom
Even though many of my friends describes me as dedicated, structured person that never gives up, I have to acknowledge that you can´t win life. You can only live it.
I think somewhere along the way i forgot the last part.
Working for many years on full throttle and brushing off failure after failure, I eventually broke. The summer of 2019 I felt that something was wrong. The eerie feeling of a disaster that was bound to happen. And it did. A helpless feeling and a grand tour into a life of depression, anxiety, burnt out and loneliness.
"What goes up, must come back down"
With that in mind the opposite of that is as much likely to happen if you want it too.
So I took my time and found a way to except the fact that I was sick. That I had to learn how to live life again, and to embrace the small things that you normally don´t capture when you are racing down life´s highway in 200 mph, almost blind folded.
Well, I choose to work on the up thing. And I will do that for the rest of my life.
Sonata Di Morte "The Album"
Looking back on the record, how it came to life,
and how it ended up. I can´t seem to fully

understand the rawness and the honesty behind the music. I really feel the emotions I hade back then. It is actually a bit creepy.
When the record really came to life, was when the bass was recorded and finally the day Wille "The Machine" step in and made his take on the album. The whole underlying communication between that artist is amazing, that to me is music.
I will always have music in my life and I hope we as band can make many more records for you and that we can get to meet you somehow. This record is our first hand out to you. Let´s see where it takes us.
That settles it for now....
I know all of us in Die With Fear hope you can enjoy this record in some way or another.
We want you with us and we welcome you with open arms.
This ends the thread of "Get To Know The Band"
Hope you have enjoyed it and that you actually got to know us a bit better.
